Leslie and Jason travelled from California to celebrate their destination wedding in Barcelona, bringing together family and friends for a wedding filled with tradition, music and unforgettable moments.
Leslie is of Mexican heritage, and her roots were beautifully present during the celebration. Their wedding day began in the heart of Barcelona with a Catholic ceremony at Puríssima Concepció and continued later in a beautiful natural setting outside the city.
From the elegance of their religious ceremony and the sound of a live organ to mariachis, Zaffe drums, live art and a lively party, the atmosphere evolved throughout the day, with every part of the celebration revealing something different.
A Catholic Ceremony in the Heart of Barcelona
The wedding day began at Puríssima Concepció, where Leslie and Jason celebrated their Catholic ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
Live organ music accompanied the ceremony, adding to the solemn and emotional atmosphere of this first part of the day. Floral arrangements completed the setting while respecting the beauty and architecture of the church.
After the ceremony, Leslie and Jason took time for photographs in the beautiful cloister of Puríssima Concepció, a peaceful and historic setting hidden in the heart of Barcelona.

But before Leslie and Jason left the church, another surprise was waiting outside.
Mariachis Waiting Outside the Church
As Leslie and Jason stepped outside after their ceremony, a group of mariachis was waiting for them.
It was a wonderful transition from the formality of the Catholic ceremony to the festive atmosphere that would define the rest of the day.
For Leslie, whose family roots are Mexican, mariachi music also brought a meaningful part of her heritage into the celebration.
Surrounded by their guests and with live music filling the moment outside the church, the atmosphere changed completely. The ceremony was over and the celebration had officially begun.
From there, Leslie and Jason left Barcelona in an elegant classic Rolls-Royce to travel to the setting where the rest of their wedding would take place.
From Barcelona to a Celebration Surrounded by Nature
Celebrating the ceremony in central Barcelona and continuing the wedding outside the city created two completely different settings within the same day.
The first part was defined by historic architecture, a religious ceremony and the peaceful atmosphere of the cloister. The second opened into a much more relaxed natural setting, where guests could enjoy the cocktail reception before dinner and the party.
This combination is one of the possibilities a destination wedding in Barcelona can offer: experiencing the city itself while also enjoying the beautiful countryside and natural surroundings just outside Barcelona.

Time to Enjoy the Cocktail Reception
Once everyone had arrived, it was time for the cocktail reception.
After the emotion and formality of the ceremony, this part of the wedding offered Leslie and Jason the opportunity to relax, enjoy a drink and spend time with family and friends before dinner.
A dedicated cocktail corner became part of the experience, while photography and film continued capturing the different moments of the celebration.
As the afternoon gradually turned into evening, another of the day’s biggest surprises was still to come.
The Energy of Zaffe to Open the Dinner
Just as dinner was about to begin, the sound of Zaffe drums transformed the atmosphere once again.
The musicians appeared at the beginning of dinner, bringing rhythm, movement and an incredible burst of energy to the celebration.
The contrast with the earlier parts of the wedding was precisely part of what made the day so distinctive.
It had begun with the sound of an organ inside a Barcelona church. Mariachis had been waiting for Leslie and Jason as they stepped outside after their ceremony. And now, as everyone gathered for dinner, the powerful rhythm of Zaffe drums marked the beginning of another chapter of the celebration.
Different sounds, different moments and different atmospheres, all forming part of the same wedding.
Capturing the Wedding in Different Ways
Photography and film accompanied Leslie and Jason throughout the day, from the preparations and religious ceremony to the celebration.
But there was another very special way of preserving a memory of their wedding: live art.
While photography captures individual moments and film preserves movement and atmosphere, an artist working during the celebration offers an entirely different interpretation of the day.
A piece of art created while the wedding is actually taking place becomes a unique and personal memory long after the celebration has ended.

Our work as wedding planners in Barcelona began many months before Leslie and Jason’s wedding day.
We accompanied them throughout the entire planning process, shaping each part of the celebration, selecting and coordinating the different suppliers, working on the design and guest experience, managing the budget and taking care of the logistics involved in organising a wedding from another country.
On the wedding day itself, our work continued with the production and overall direction of the celebration, ensuring that everything planned over the previous months happened at the right moment and in the way it had been designed.
From the ceremony in central Barcelona to the celebration afterwards, every supplier, transfer and moment formed part of one overall plan.
For a couple organising their wedding from the United States, having a planning team at the destination means having someone who knows the local market, represents their interests and can manage directly in Spain everything that is difficult to coordinate from thousands of kilometres away.
